Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account details: name, email, date of birth, and gender. Only your first name and surname initial are ever shown to other members.

Profile content: the details, preferences, and photos you choose to add. Location metadata (EXIF) is automatically stripped from uploaded photos.

Usage data: login times and key account events (signup, payment, reports, blocks) including IP address, kept for security and fraud prevention.

Analytics: we record page views on our own servers (first-party, no advertising trackers) and also use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand how visitors use the site. You can block Google Analytics with standard browser tools without affecting the site.

Activity signals: when you view a profile or mark a member as 'interested', that member can see it under their Activity page.

Payment: card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never touches our servers — we store only a Stripe reference token.

How we use it

To operate the service: showing your profile to other members, delivering messages, and processing membership payments.

To keep the community safe: investigating reports and enforcing our zero-tolerance rules. Uploaded photos are automatically screened for explicit content (Google Cloud Vision) and member feedback is automatically reviewed for abuse or identifying details (Google Gemini) before publication; borderline cases are reviewed by a person.

Member feedback: feedback you leave about another member (and they about you) is shown on profiles, visible to active members only, with your first name and surname initial.

To contact you: transactional emails about your account, payments, and messages.

AI assistance: if you use the 'Help me write this' profile assistant, the facts you type and your profile details are sent to Google Gemini to draft text; nothing is published without you saving it. Messages you send to clearly labelled AI demo members are processed by Gemini to generate their replies.

Who can see your profile

Your profile and photos are visible to paying, active members only. They are not public and are not indexed by search engines.

Retention & deletion

Security event logs are retained for 12 months and first-party page-view records for 6 months. You can delete your account yourself at any time from My Profile → Delete my account; this permanently removes your profile, photos, messages and feedback. Or contact support@letsdate.au and we will action it within 30 days, subject to legal record-keeping obligations.

Storage & processors

Data is stored on Google Cloud in Australia (Sydney region). We use Stripe for payment card processing, Mailgun for email delivery, Google Cloud Vision and Gemini for automated safety screening, and Google Analytics for site analytics.
